Antioch Library Reception for the permanent installation of the painting "Return to Sedona" and the bronze Trail Marker Tree sculpture. The reception will be held at the Antioch Public Library, in the Eide Room at 1:00 p.m. The event is to celebrate the permanent installation of Mr. Downes' painting, "Return to Sedona," and bronze Trail Marker Tree sculpture, both to be placed in the entrance to the library. Channel 24 "Art in Illinois Libraries" will be filming and interviewing Mr. Downes during the event. Public Welcome. For more information call the Antioch Public Library at: 847-395-0874.

The Downes Studio 7th Annual Art Show 2007 Four day show featuring an extensive Trail Marker Tree exhibit, paintings, tapestries, bronzes and prints. Mr. Downes will be present all four days. The Grove's Redfield Center is a National Historic Landmark, sitting on 123 wooded acres. Mr. Downes donates a portion of all proceeds to The Grove's preservation. Research Trip, May, 2007 La Brea Tar Pits in California, to do further research on the Teratorns in relation to Thunderbird symbols in the Great Lakes region.

Firkin's Fundraiser, 3rd year, This year to benefit Children's Diabetes "The event will take place, thanks to owners Rick and Linda Jansen for providing their establishment, thanks to the professional musicians Peter Quinn and Harry Reinhardt for providing the music and thanks to Dennis Downes for providing the art piece. Mr. Downes will be present for the entire evening. Thanks to Mr.Quinn for his efforts to collect a wide variety of prizes, donated by local businesses to be raffled off during the event. All proceeds go to the cause.

Emmons School Fundraiser Saturday, May 12th 2007

Joliet Fine Art Festival of the Master's This Fine Art Show will feature many award winning artists from the Midwest. This juried festival will be located in downtown Joliet, on historic Chicago Street, home of the famous Rialto Square Theatre. Mr. Downes will be present both days. Arts in Northbrook 2007 Outdoor Festival Artist will be present will be present both days. Mr. Downes will be one of the featured artists along with over 80 other artists displaying their work. Mr. Downes is a strong supporter of Arts in Northbrook and the Northbrook Art Council. For information call Art Director, Pat Strong 847-272-2442. Research Trip July 17th-25th

Mr. Downes will be revisiting the Wilderness Coast area in Ontario. He will be conducting further research on the petroglyphs of the region, as well as painting on location.

July 18, 2007 - 4:30pm

Channel 19 - Whats New in Libraries Will air segment on two of Mr. Downes' art pieces, a bronze trail marker tree and a painting, "Return To Sedona". They will become a permanent part of the entrance to the new Antioch Public Library. This was possible because of the artist recieving a grant from Art and Architectural. The interview will run on over 70 channels through out Illinois.

Pets on Parade Northbrook Public Library 1201 Cedar Lane Mr. Downes will be present. Funds raised from 15 sculptures painted by the artist, will go to the library and Arts in Northbrook.
